Greater Louisville Inc. Recognizes Emerging Minority Businesses


America’s Finest Filters winner of new award

October 16, 2009 (Louisville, KY) – Greater Louisville Inc. – the Metro Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Louisville Defender, announced the winner of its Emerging Minority Business Award at the newspaper’s Annual Business and Professional Achievement Recognition Luncheon today.  America’s Finest Filters, a manufacturer and supplier of filtration management solutions for hospitals, schools, office building and shopping centers is the recipient of the award.  President and CEO Michael White accepted the award.

The Emerging Minority Business award recognizes local minority businesses whose focus on innovation, community engagement and growth make them an asset to our community and a role model for businesses nationwide.

GLI solicited nominations from the business community and submissions were judged by a panel comprised of Glenda Berry, President of AABA (African American Business Alliance) and owner of G. Berry Associates; Tom Masterson, Owner of TEM Electric, Inc.; and Kena Samuels Stitch, Owner of SKS Associates, Inc.  Nine minority-owned businesses competed for the award:

·       Clinica Latino Progresiva

·       El Latino Enterprises, LLC

·       GP New Enterprises Group

·       iServe Advisors, LLC

·       JABA Construction & Landscaping, LLC

·       Leverag Industries LLC and Land Commercial Development

·       TKT & Associates, Inc.

The winner of Emerging Minority Business Award will receive a one year complimentary GLI membership, an opportunity to be recognized at a GLI Board of Directors meeting and personalized business development consultative services from GLI’s Enterprise Corp.
